About Us
Our History
Over the years, St. George’s Lodge has been home to many prominent local figures, including Thomas Merritt, and Dr. Theophilus Mack, both of whom played key roles in the development of the Niagara region. The lodge has also been instrumental in founding other lodges in the area.
Today, operating from the Masonic Memorial Temple on Centre Street since 1954, it continues to serve both the Masonic community and St. Catharines through charity and outreach.
Our Meetings
Our regular meetings begin at 7:30pm on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Masonic Memorial Temple Association Building at 23 Centre Street.
Meetings are similar to other charitable and social clubs. While they have the typical agenda items like paying bills and reading minutes, We also perform degree work, and have speakers present on a variety of topics.
We aim to keep our meetings as short and engaging as possible before closing lodge to share a light meal, and catch up informally.

What's Freemasonry About?
The three core values of Masonry are Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.
Brotherly Love: The sense of unity, and support among masons.
Relief: The commitment to helping others in need. It could be by donating time or money, or the simple act of holding a door for someone.
Truth: The pursuit of honesty, knowledge and self improvement.
The bond of friendship and brotherhood within Freemasonry is unlike anything else.
It’s about shared values—integrity, respect, and charity—that connect us deeply, beyond just a social group. Freemasonry brings together people from all walks of life, and all corners of the globe and fosters a sense of equality and mutual respect.
No matter where you are, a fellow Mason is a friend.
